The nurse’s role on the opioid crisis was evaluated to determine whether their knowledge about non-pharmacological pain management interventions had an effect on the use of opioids in their patients. Based on our research, we created an evidence-based practice (EBP) project to develop an educational program for nurses. This program was designed to teach nurses about non-pharmacological pain techniques for mild to moderate pain and their effectiveness in order to reduce prescription opioid use.
